In succession to the
First Asia-Pacific Symposium on Wind Engineering at Roorkee/India in
1985, and then, Beijing/China, Hong Kong/China, Gold
Coast/Australia, Tokyo/Japan and Seoul/Korea,
the 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Wind Engineering (APCWE-VII)
will be held on November 8-12, 2009 at Taipei, Taiwan, organized
and hosted by Chinese Taiwan Association for
Wind Engineering and Tamkang University.
The APCWE conference is an international event regularly attended
by 250~300 wind engineering researchers and practitioners from
around Asia and Pacific regions. Under the umbrella of
International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE), it is
routinely convened every four years, in between the International
Conferences on Wind Engineering (ICWE).
APCWE-VII
aims to provide a knowledge platform for
exchanging state-of-the-art research findings or practical
applications in view of all needs in wind engineering, and to
further enhance international collaborations by all means based on
the excellent success of international interaction in the past.
We are
very enthusiastic about having the opportunity to host APCWE-VII and
a great effort has been taken to ensure its success. Of course,
your participation is essential. Aside from the technical integrity
and abundance in this conference, APCWE-VII also offers you an
attractive tourism experience to explore the harmonic mixture of
traditional Chinese and contemporary cultures in the international
city, Taipei ¡V including the tallest building in the world ¡V Taipei
101 building; authentic Chinese cuisine; finest collections of
Chinese historical artifacts; and spectacular natural wonders in the
east coast of Taiwan. The weather of Taipei in November is mostly
sunny with temperature around 20-25 degrees Celsius. Taiwan is a
